Palm Springs: Desert Oasis

Palm Springs is one of the world’s most luxurious desert oases-it’s famous for its mid-century modern architecture, golf courses, and spas. Take a hike in nearby mountains or check out the Palm Springs Art Museum and spend an afternoon exploring Joshua Tree National Park. From lounging by the pool to a round of golf, or savouring local California cuisine, this vibrant and lively town is a great destination for a relaxation holiday. In fact, Palm Springs is a place with extremely popular mid-century modern architecture, good shopping, and lively nightlife. It holds different people inside, but on the other hand, celebrities come here outdoor people too. The combination of natural beauty and modernism makes it perfect for adventurers as well as for relaxation seekers.

History

Historically, Palm Springs is as old as hundreds of thousands of years back courtesy of the Cahuilla Native people. It eventually became one of the favorite getaways for the Hollywood glitterati, especially during the 1920s. Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe were some of the frequent visitors in this place. Its glamorous reputation was solidified in time and remains popular today for recreation and relaxation.

Geographical Landscape

Hid in the San Jacinto Mountains, Palm Springs is gorgeously beautiful from the desert landscapes to palm groves to picture canyons. The summertime hot temperature here can be quite mild during winters. Perfect for those people who love having sun-kissed skin, the mountains are perfect for hiking and have fantastic views from the vantage points.

Best Time to Visit

Best season: March to May in spring and September to November in fall. The warm weather together with blooming desert flowers make these months superb days for being outdoor and having all those festivities. So do the pleasant-weathered and crowd-free conditions in the fall. Summer can become really hot to the point that times are facing more than 100°F, while winter is tolerable and warm.
