Location of Palampur
Known as Tea capital of North India, this wonderful hilly retreat is located in the north-western part of Himachal Pradesh. How to reach Palampur?

- By air : Gaggal Airport in Dharamshala is the nearest to the hill station, situated just 40 km away. One can easily board private taxis from here to reach Palampur.
- By rail : The town has its own railway station, named as Palampur Railway station. It is 5 km away from the main city. But that is not the issue. The other major railway station is in Pathankot, located about 110 km away.
- By road : There are no issues with travelling to this mesmerising city via road. It is one of the most pleasing journeys. Regular buses ply for Palampur from Pathankot, Mandi, Dharamshala, Jogindernagar, Shimla and many other cities. Direct HRTC bus services also available for Palampur from Delhi.
Best time to visit Palampur
The months of April to June are warmer as Palampur experiences summer during these months. The temperature fluctuates between 8 to 30 degree Celsius. The monsoon months from July to October are quite wet and prone to landslides. Thus this isn’t the best time to explore this place.
Winters in this valley brings the best of mother nature. The temperature can drop as low as -10 degree Celsius covering the valley in the drape of the white blanket.
The best time for exploring Palampur is from March to June and from September to November.
