Kasauli: Where the Nature Rests

Himachal Pradesh sits in the lap of Himalayas and truly relishes the mesmerising gifts of the mighty Himalayas and his serpentine rivers. The magnificent glory of the state lies in the gifts of Himalayas, its valleys and its climate.

Location of Kasauli

The peaceful hilly cantonment makes an ideal holiday destination and a perfect escape into the arms of nature.

Perched at an astounding height of 1,927 metres, Kasauli is one of the most beautiful town in the Solan district.

Established in 1842 as a British cantonment, Kasauli is just 65 km away from Chandigarh. The town is famous for its lush picturesque greenery and British architecture.

Best time to visit Kasauli

The lush surrounding of this tiny Himalayan town gives it the magic of being perfect tourism destination. The year around perfect weather attracts tons of tourists from across the globe.

It is the abode for summer during the month of March to June, with temperature swinging between 14 degree Celsius to 28 degree Celsius. Summers in Kasauli brings with itself the perfect season for sight seeing and adventure sports.

Monsoon blesses this hamlet between July and September, drenching the valley in the most beautiful shade of green and giving new life to the land.

Winters arrive here in October and leaves by February. The temperature during this period is something between 5 degree Celsius to 14 degree Celsius. Winter brings with itself the surprise of occasional snowfall.

How to reach Kasauli?

Transportation is not an issue while reaching here. As the hilly cantonment is on route from Chandigarh toย Shimla.

  • By air :ย The nearest airport is 70 km away located in Chandigarh. From here tourists can avail taxi/cab or bus services to reach Kasauli.
  • By rail :ย Kalka railway station is the nearest railhead, located just 25 km away from Kasauli. Taxis are available which drop you to your desired destination.
  • By road :ย Tourists can utilize the well developed road network around Kasauli, which connects it to all the main cities of India.

Places to visit in Kasauli

The beautiful tiny town has a lot for its tourists.

Monkey point

The highest point in the town, offers some breath taking sights. The point doesnโ€™t just give you glimpse of Kasauli but also of the nearby cities of Chandigarh, Kalka and Panchkula. The view of serpentine Satluj flowing through the Himalayan valley is the moment of eternal joy. The place has a small temple at the peak, dedicated to Lord Hanumana, who is believed to have stepped here while looking for Sanjeevani Booti.

The Mall road

To all the shopaholics, Mall road is your heaven! The colourful street decorated with antiques and full of hustle and bustle of people is a complete opposite of the usual calm and peaceful aura of Kasauli.

Sunset Point

Located at the upper Mall Road, this is the perfect location to enjoy the quite pine laid landscape, dreamy valleys and mesmerising sunset. Nothing can match the divine pleasure of a picturesque sun hiding behind the mighty hills.
