Ajman: The Secret Jewel in the UAE

In a silhouetted shadow by its strong counterparts, this is the smallest emirate in the United Arab Emirates. Ajman often seems to unveil its real charm to those tourists who wish for being authentic. There are clean beaches, historical heritage, and a warm welcome which made Ajman the ultimate destination for relaxation, expedition, and a little dash of real Emirati tradition. Although small, Ajman has plenty to show a history-conscious tourist seeking more than just the beaches.

Ajman History

The history of Ajman dates back thousands of years to ancient times with human settlement. Evidence abounds that the emirate played an important role in regional trade routes as the port through which merchants would pass. Ajman is one of the sheikhdoms, and in the 19th century, it was incorporated into the Trucial States. The states later formed United Arab Emirates in 1971. Transferring to the helm as Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ajman flourished rich in cultural heritage.

Territorial Landscape

Ajman is an emirate placed on the Arabian Gulf, bordered by Sharjah in the south and the other emirates by the north and west. The emirate boasts a wonderful coastline along the gulf, with fantastic beaches that attract sun and sand-seekers. The landscape of Ajman is also desert, which automatically creates a haven for a lot of adventure ‘selfie’ moments through dune bashing and camel rides.

When to Visit

The best time to visit Ajman is between November and March. It is moderately warm and pleasantly comfortable. When the crowds are manageable, the visitor can enjoy different types of outdoor activities, attend cultural events, and go through a variety of festivals. All these can be avoided during summer months when the heat has been extreme.
