Vasudhara Waterfall is situated at an elevation of 3,675 meters above sea level in the Badrinath Valley, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. It’s about 9 km from Badrinath Temple and has the Alaknanda River running close to it, making it look even more beautiful. The trek starts from Mana Village, the last inhabited area before the Indo-Tibetan border, just 3 km away from Badrinath. Surrounded by towering peaks like Chaukhamba and Nilkantha, Vasudhara Waterfall is an ideal place for a Badrinath outing with sweeping vistas.

Distance to Vasudhara Waterfall

You have to take a road trip and a trek to arrive at Vasudhara Waterfall. The distance from Badrinath is approximately 9 km and the initial 3 km can easily be traversed in taxi or bus. The following 5-6 km is a trek from Mana to Vasudhara, 2-4 hours by your own speed. The trek is over rocky paths and a steep incline, especially after the Saraswati Mandir, but Himalayan scenery justifies every step. The return trip would be 7-8 hours with breaks.

How to Reach Vasudhara Waterfall

Rishikesh (290 km) is the nearest railway station, having buses hourly to Badrinath. By road, from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun, there are taxis and buses—plan a 10–12-hour drive.
