  • Litti-Chokha – A classic Bihari dish, and the most famous one, the roasted wheat balls stuffed with sattu (gram flour), dipped in pure desi ghee served with mashed potatoes, and baigan (brinjal) ki sbaji
  • Peda – A melt-in-your-mouth sweet made from khoya (milk solids). The ones from local sweet shops are to die for.
  • Tarua– Thinly sliced vegetables dipped in a spicy gram flour batter and fried to perfection.
  • Maithili Thali – Rice, dal, seasonal veggies, achar (pickles), and fried papad — simple thali for you to know the real taste of dharbhanga.

  • Tower Chowk – The heartbeat of Darbhanga’s street food scene, from spicy chaat to piping hot samosas served with green and red chutney.
  • Donar Road – The go-to place for crispy jalebis and kachoris in the morning.
  • Laheriasarai Market – Do try the golgappas (pani puris) and chana-choor stall snacks.

Prices? A filling street food snack here can cost you as little as ₹50-100. Delicious and budget-friendly.

  • Laheriasarai Market – The lovely, blessed with life, you will find local handicrafts, Mithila paintings, traditional clothes, and silver jewellery.
