Audio tour system is part of a greater endeavor by the state toward making its rich heritage more accessible to both its domestic as well as international travelers. Audio content through digital platforms on these sites will be available for the visitors. Hopefully, that will trigger an experience building up strong insights into history, architecture, and the cultural significance of every location. Then, tourists will have the capability to read what the QR code placed in different sites says via their smartphone.
Updates reveal that, initially the contents of the audio will be provided in English and Hindi followed by regional and international languages. The idea is to include all types of visitors coming from any nook and corner of the world. Audio tours would take 1-15 minutes, so visitors could absorb information while touring at their convenience and relishing a better feel for the destination.
Earlier this year, from January to June, Ayodhya has witnessed huge tourist inflow due to recent construction of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The state is looking forward for the same traffic of tourists across the state.
Audio QR-code tours are to be installed at the iconic sites of the Taj Mahal, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Fatehpur Sikri, and Lucknow's marvels, Hazratganj and Bara Imambara. The project will ensure that the tourists understand those places better, thus making their visits meaningful.
The audio tours mobile-responsive web portal will seamlessly work with the QR codes for easy access through smartphones and tablets.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism will hope to position the state as one of India's leaders in cultural tourism while redesigning an experience that honors the past but has a vision for the possibilities of the future.
