Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, which is located in the tranquil Kumaon Hills of Uttarakhand, is a spiritual retreat that draws thousands of people looking for peace and divine blessings. Having its fame in connection with Neem Karoli Baba, a saintly figure and devotee of Lord Hanuman, the ashram is a peaceful retreat in nature. If you’re planning a visit to Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli in 2025, this guide covers how to reach, distances, history, the best time to visit, and essential tips for a fulfilling Uttarakhand spiritual retreat.

History of Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli Baba Ashram

Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli was established in 1962 by Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj-ji, a spiritual guru born as Lakshman Das in 1900 in Uttar Pradesh. The name of the ashram, “Kainchi,” is derived from the scissors-like form created by two hills intersecting at the location. Neem Karoli Baba, whom many believe to be an incarnation of Lord Hanuman, spent his remaining years here, imparting love, compassion, and selfless service. He went into samadhi in 1973, and a kalash with his ashes was placed at Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli. The ashram became internationally renowned when prominent personalities such as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg had visited in the 1970s and 2010s, looking for inspiration. Currently, the Lord Hanuman temple along with the peaceful environment of the ashram make Kainchi Dham Neem Karoli a major pilgrimage destination.
